MeetSync® and Apple Calendar
Apple Calendar connects via CalDAV using an app-specific password. Your busy time is blocked and booked meetings are added to your iCloud calendar.
How the Apple Calendar connection works
Apple does not offer a normal sign-in button for calendar integrations. Instead MeetSync® connects over CalDAV, the standard iCloud uses. You create an app-specific password in your Apple account and enter it with your Apple ID – your real password is never stored.
Once connected you choose which iCloud calendars count towards availability and where bookings are created. Busy time blocks bookable slots, and booked meetings appear on iPhone, iPad and Mac because they are written to the same iCloud calendar.
Apple can be combined with Google and Microsoft 365 in the same calculation. That is common in smaller companies where someone keeps work in Microsoft 365 but private commitments in iCloud – both are counted so you are not double-booked.

Worth knowing before you connect
Two-factor authentication is required
App-specific passwords can only be created when two-factor authentication is on. The password is created in your account settings and can be revoked there.
Video meetings need another connection
iCloud does not create meeting rooms. For Teams or Google Meet you need that connection; otherwise enter your own meeting link or a physical location.
Shared family or team calendars
Calendars shared to your iCloud account can be included in availability, so private commitments block time without being visible to whoever books.

- Why is an app-specific password needed?
- Apple requires it for CalDAV connections when two-factor authentication is used.
- Is a video link created automatically?
- No. Teams and Meet links require a Microsoft or Google connection; otherwise you can add your own meeting link or location.
- Can I remove the connection?
- Yes, at any time. Your iCloud calendar will then no longer be used for availability.
- Is my Apple ID password stored?
- No. Only the app-specific password is used for the connection, and you can revoke it in your Apple account at any time.
- What happens if I revoke the app-specific password?
- The connection stops working and is marked inactive. Create a new password and reconnect to resume syncing.
- Does it work with iCloud calendars in an organisation?
- Yes, as long as the calendars are reachable over CalDAV with the connected Apple account. Calendars in other systems are connected separately by each user.
